What is rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty reshapes the bone and cartilage framework of the nose — refining a dorsal hump, a drooping or bulbous tip, asymmetry, or post-traumatic deformity — while preserving or improving breathing. Dr. Cömert uses structural techniques that support the nose for the long term rather than simply reducing it.
A nose planned for your face
A good rhinoplasty is invisible: the nose fits the face so naturally that attention returns to the eyes. Because Dr. Cömert's practice centres on whole-face harmony — including jaw surgery and chin and facial implants — the nose is never planned in isolation. A weak chin, for example, can make a normal nose look large; sometimes the right answer is a combined plan.
Function matters as much as form
Breathing is assessed and treated in the same operation where needed — septal deviation, valve support and turbinates are addressed so the refined nose also works well. Revision (secondary) rhinoplasty for noses operated elsewhere is a regular part of the practice.
Recovery, step by step
- Week 1: external splint and any internal supports are removed around day 7; bruising under the eyes settles.
- Week 2: most patients are comfortable socially; visible swelling has largely faded to onlookers.
- Months 1–3: the shape refines steadily as deeper swelling resolves.
- Up to 12 months: the tip fully defines — final photos are meaningful from about a year.
International patients usually stay in Istanbul about 7–8 days, until the splint is removed.
